Lever Action

This discipline is divided into three different sections and details for each of these are as follows:

RIMFIRE

This area covers the lever action rimfire rifle and may be shot alongside the lever action centrefire rifle.  In Queensland this is generally known as the 'Open Competition'.  To compete at National level, only shooters using lever action rimfire rifles may compete against each other in what is known as the Rimfire Championship.
 
Open or peep sights can only be used in this competition as any form of optical sight is prohibited along with the use of spotting scopes.

CENTREFIRE

This area covers the lever action centrefire rifle and may be shot alongside the lever action rimfire rifle.  In Queensland this is generally known as the 'Open Competition'.  To compete at National level, only shooters using lever action centrefire rifles may compete against each other in what is known as the Centrefire Championship.

Open or peep sights can only be used in this competition as any form of optical sight is prohibited along with the use of spotting scopes.

CLASSIC CALIBRE

This area covers the lever action centrefire rifle with a two piece wooden stock and chambered for any centrefire calibre that was produced commercially prior to 1939.  To compete at State and National level, only shooters using lever action centrefire rifles chambered for the allowable calibre may compete against each other in what is known as the Classic Calibre Championship.

Open sights (blade and buckhorn) can only be used in this competition as any form of peep sight or optical sight is prohibited along with the use of spotting scopes.

Club shoots are held on the first Sunday of every month with a 1.00pm start.  It is best to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to start time.  The 'Open Competition' is held first and then followed by the 'Classic Calibre  Competition'.
