SSAA Brisbane

The club has in excess of 19,000 members drawn from the Brisbane city area and is open for members, visitors and non-members seven days a week including public holidays.

The SSAA Brisbane branch is situated 20 minutes from the city and 20 minutes from the airport. Set in natural bushland, the range is truly a part of the beautiful city of Brisbane and is part of the Belmont Range Complex which takes up 504.3 hectares (1250 acres). Most of the complex site users have substantially upgraded their facilities to world standard.

About the range

The range comprises of the following:-

Rifle Range - 30 benches with target frames established at 50 metres, 100, 200, 300 and 400 yards. A standing post area (500 metres) suitable for various disciplines such as rifle metallic silhouette (air rifle, rimfire and centrefire), field rifle, lever action, military/service rifle and junior target shooters. The use of ranges beyond 200m/yd is restricted.

Pistol Range - A 200m pistol metalic silhouette range where we regularly host state and national championships and suitable for cowboy lever action competitions,  50m pistol range with turning targets, and an indoor air pistol range which was purpose built for the 2000 Olympic Games.

Shotgun Range - Two clay target ranges with both trap and skeet layouts..

 


Legal Compliance

All Firearms Licence holders must present their current Firearms License for inspection. All unlicensed persons from age 11 must show current photo ID. All people attending the range must wear all personal protection equipment as directed, including wearing fully enlosed shoes.

All minors who are not accompanied by their parent /guardian are required to provide written permission to attend a shooting range signed by their parent/guardian.
