FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can I participate if I don’t have a firearms licence?
Yes! If you're at least 11 years old and in good standing, you can shoot under special supervision. Just bring an official Photo ID (driver’s licence, passport, school/university ID, etc.) and sign a statutory declaration that you’re not excluded under Queensland law.

What should I bring?
Everyone on the range must wear appropriate clothing. At a minimum, this means:

  • Fully enclosed shoes (no thongs, sandals, or Crocs)
  • A shirt/top that covers your torso (no singlets or sleeveless shirts)
  • Only one piece of camouflage clothing (maximum 50% camo)
  • No clothing or items that could cause concern (e.g., military flak jackets, combat vests)

We also provide earplugs as part of the Try Shooting Packages, but if you have sensitive hearing or prefer earmuffs, feel free to bring your own! We also have earmuffs available for purchase at the range. Please note that noise-cancelling headphones/earbuds are not suitable for hearing protection.

Is there an alcohol policy?
Yes, we have a strict zero-tolerance policy on alcohol and drugs while participating in shooting activities. It’s also illegal to possess or use a weapon under the influence, as per the Weapons Act 1990 (Qld).

What’s included in the Try Shooting Package?
Your fee covers everything you need: firearms, range access, ammunition, targets, hearing protection, and coaching from one of our experienced instructors.

Can I book for more than 2 people?

  • Groups larger than 2 are not available on Fridays or Sundays.
  • For Saturday bookings, depending on other bookings on the day, we may be able to accomodate a maximum group size of 5 people. Please contact our office at (07) 3395 0911 to discuss options.

Can I share my experience on social media?
Absolutely! Just be sure to follow our Social Media Policy, which you can find posted at the range and on our website. Photos should reflect safe and positive experiences—your instructor can help stage them. Remember, don't tag or mention anyone without their permission.

Can I take my paper targets home?
Yes, feel free to take your paper targets with you and show off your skills!

Can I take home unused ammunition?
No, only those with a valid Weapons Act licence are allowed to take ammunition home.

Can I share my booking with someone else?
No, each booking is for one person. Any additional people will need to make their own booking.

What if I need to cancel my booking?

  • Cancellations made within 7 days may result in forfeiting the deposit unless a reasonable excuse is provided.
  • For cancellations within 48 hours, no refunds will be issued.
  • All cancellations will incur a $10.00 admin fee. Subject to availability, bookings may be rescheduled with sufficient notice.

All the dates are booked out—when can I book again?
