Guide to the Safety & Competency Training Program
Introduction
SSAA Brisbane’s Safety & Competency Training Program is the ideal way to learn the fundamentals of safe and responsible firearm use. Designed for new shooters, this structured program will guide you through essential skills, from basic handling to independent shooting, ensuring you meet the high safety standards required to participate in club activities.
This guide outlines everything you need to know about the program, including session details, training structure, and what to expect as you progress. If you’re ready to begin your journey into pistol shooting, we look forward to welcoming you to the range!
Note: Licensed members joining will need to be assessed as meeting the same standard for safety. If you pass, you will be deemed competent for the types of pistols you are assessed on.
